Where in the World is TR Pynchon? Reading Group March 3 Meeting

Well, our little book club has expanded from 4 to 7 participants, reading "The Crying of Lot 49".  We got to the top of page 22.  The last line of the night "The film is in an air-conditioned vault at one of the Hollywood studios, light can"t fatigue it, it can be repeated endlessly".  We were introduced to some new characters.  Metzger, the lawyer, Baby Igor, Miles and his Beatlesque band "the Paranoids" and spoiler alert we are coming to a very slapstick routine to finish out chapter 2.

Join us at the Commerce St Brewery on Monday March 3rd at 5pm cst

Where in the World is TR Pynchon? Reading Group Feb 24 Meeting

Hello all Pynchon fans.  We had our first reading group last Monday.  Four intrepid souls came out in the cold to the Commerce Street Brewery to discuss "The Crying of Lot 49".

We learned that Oedipa Maas was named the executrix of her late ex's will.  We found out a bit about her husband Mucho Maas and their relationship, and we discussed the art of the Spanish painter Remedios Varo.

Basically we got through the first chapter which is page 12, had a few beers and a fun discussion.

Our next meeting (open to all) will be Monday February 24th at 5pm cst at the Commerce Street Brewery
